Care to dance?
This is a design called The Summer Ball, which
I started way back in 2010. I was about a third
of the way through when I found out my
sister-in-law was pregnant with my first niece,
so I put it aside to stitch baby bits! Ten years,
two more nieces, a nephew, various friends
having kids and other projects happened,
before I finally got around to picking it back
up. I finally finished it a few months ago.
Natalie Trenner, Harlow, Essex
Zeena: It was worth the ten-year wait, Natalie!
I love the elegant feel of this period piece.
Faster foxy finish
I would like to share my latest finished project
with you. It is the fox by Durene Jones from
issue 158 of Gold. Normally I stitch the whole
design, but when I finished stitching the fox
I liked it so much, I decided to stop there. I
found the perfect sized frame for it and I am
very happy with the end result.
Mrs Linda West, Douglas, Isle of Man
Zeena: This look great, Linda. Some designs are
just perfect for adapting in this way. I’m glad
you enjoyed stitching Durene’s cute fox!
Festive planning
I’m perusing my Cross Stitch Gold
collection to find my next Christmas
stocking project. Five of my current ten
stockings are from your magazine! And
this doesn’t include the 15 framed
pictures I’ve done... I’m so glad I
found your magazine all those years
ago at a library fundraising sale.
Christine Austin, Georgia, USA
Zeena: I recognise some of these lovely
stockings – what an impressive collection!

Retro beauty
I recently completed this beautiful cross stitch
pattern by Maria Diaz from Cross Stitch Gold
magazine, issue 148. I have stitched many
elegant ladies and this was a definite must
to add to my ever-growing collection of
completed pieces. She is so pretty with her
gorgeous hat and bright flowers. I love the
charts in your magazine as they are always
so clear and easy to follow. Thank you for such
wonderful patterns – I look forward to starting
my next project very soon.
Lindsay Holmes, by email
Zeena: Our tech team do a wonderful job
with the charts, don’t they? Do let us know which
elegant lady you choose to stitch next!
