Anniversary cards
1
Trim your stitching to size, leaving at least
six strands of evenweave around all four
edges, then fray four strands of evenweave all
the way around. You can either pull the threads
out by hand or use a pair of tweezers.
2
Cut a piece of white paper to a slightly
smaller size than your stitched area, and
stick this to the back of the fabric using double-
sided tape.
3
Stick more double-sided tape to the back of
the white paper and position the stitching
over the centre of the card blank. When you are
happy, stick it carefully into place.
How mount the cards
Metallic thread can be
springy and easily slip
free, so leave a longer
‘tail’ when securing
your thread
Stitch tip
Adding character
I really enjoyed coming up with these little
scenes, and especially the ducks themselves.
They have a cartoony quality, which I hope
you’ll enjoy – carefully placed backstitch
lines for their cute expressions and fluffy
feathers really helps to bring them to life.
