you’ll need to make sure there’s enough clearance above it to remove the
cap or port bung and pour coolant into your reservoir, especially with tall
tube reservoirs. You might be able to adjust the reservoir to make this

3 / CONSIDER A FILL PORT
If you prefer the convenience of being able to fill your loop from outside
the case, or you don’t have room to fill your loop from the reservoir, a fill
port is a great idea. You can see how to install one on p102.T

cooling these days, but using the right one and positioning
it correctly in your case can make your water-cooling
experience much easier. Many reservoirs now come equipped with
embedded pumps, so you don’t need to find somewhere to mount
a pump separately. This saves a huge amount of space, and means
you can install a water-cooling system in many more cases too.
Reservoirs are important features of your water-cooling system
as well, allowing you to fill your loop with coolant and bleed the air
from them. Without a reservoir, your loop would be noisier, and it
would take ages to bleed and fill properly as well. In this guide, we’ll

Most reservoirs use fan mounts to secure themselves to your case
these days. This is best done in the front of your case, either to a fan
mount, fan or radiator that’s installed. If your reservoir doesn’t include
a fan mounting kit, check the manufacturer’s website, as you can
sometimes get optional mounting brackets.
