  1. At the end of the RH corner
triangle, you can see the 10 sts
    now on the RH needle.

  2. Now work the right side
    rectangles. There are two to
    complete. Pick up and k10
along the edge of the triangle
    immediately next to the RH
corner triangle (one of the base
    triangles). For this pattern only,
insert the tip of the RH needle
    through only half a stitch
when picking up a stitch. You’ll
    probably pick up one stitch
    approximately every 2 rows.

  3. Here are the 10 sts picked
up along the side of the base
    triangle. Now work the 2-row
    RS rectangle pattern as foll:
turn so that you are on a WS
row and work (p2, k2) twice,
    p2, then turn again.
    10. Now on the RS row, (k2, p2)
twice, then k1. Now work an ssk
with the last of the group of 10
sts with the first stitch of the
next group on the LH needle,
as shown here. Turn and repeat
the two rows till there are no
more sts left in the group of 10
    sts on the LH needle.

Repeat for the next RS
rectangle from image 8.

  1. Here is an image of the
    completed RH corner triangle
    and the two RS rectangles.

  2. Now work the LH corner
    triangle. Still with the RS
facing, pick up and k10 as
    before along the side edge
    of the base triangle. Here
the 10 sts have been picked
    up. Complete the triangle by
purling 2 sts together at the
beginning of each WS row till
only 1 st remains on the RH
needle and the WS is facing.
    13. Here is the single stitch
on the RH needle with the
WS facing. Now work the WS
rectangles. First pick up and purl
10 sts along the side of the LH
corner triangle. Insert the tip of
the needle through half of the
    stitch when picking up stitches.
    14. All 10 sts have been picked
    up. The WS rectangle pattern
is worked over 2 rows. Turn, so
that the RS is facing and work
    (k2, p2) twice, then k2. Turn
and work (p2, k2) twice, then
p1. Now purl the last stitch
together with the first stitch of
    the next group. Repeat these
2 rows till there are no more
    stitches in the next group
and the WS is facing. Pick up
the next group of 10 sts and
    repeat. Work another WS
    rectangle.
    15. All 3 WS rectangles have
    been worked as shown here
and your work has been turned
so that the RS is facing. Work
a RH corner as before, shown
in images 4 to 7. Work the 2 RS
    rectangles as before, shown in
images 8 to 10, picking up sts
along the side of the rectangles
    rather than the base triangles.
Work a LH corner triangle as
before, shown in image 12. (A
single stitch remains on the RH
    needle and WS facing).
    16. Now work the end triangles.
Pick up and p9 along the side
of the LH corner triangle to
give you 10 sts. P2tog at the
beginning of every WS row, p
to the last stitch of this group,
then p2tog with this st and the
first st of the next group on the
LH needle. Knit each RS row.
Repeat these 2 rows till a total
of 4 sts are left, ending with a
RS row. Turn and p2tog twice,
then pass the first p2tog stitch
over the next one to leave one
    stitch. Then repeat picking up
    stitches as before across the
remaining two groups of 10 sts.
    Cast off remaining stitch.
