It is with deep sadness and regrets that we inform you about a recent loss to our school community. On Insert
Date, Name of Student and grade passed away. I know you join us in expressing our deepest sympathy and
condolences to the student name’s family - we can only imagine their heartbreak during this very difficult time.
This loss is sure to raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school, especially our students,
and we want to assure you that we are prepared to help our entire school community cope with this loss. Name of
School has a School Support Team made up of professionals trained to help with the needs of students, parents,
and school personnel at difficult times such as this. We also have our Social Work team, list name (s), available for
any student who may need or want help, or any type of assistance surrounding this loss. We encourage you, as
parents, to also feel free to use our resources.
Students were notified of this loss first thing this morning and had the opportunity during advisory to reflect
and be together as a community during this challenging time. We have had additional counselors and Uncommon
personnel available at the school to ensure that all our students, families, and staff members can receive support
during the days ahead. We look forward to partnering with students to find additional ways to celebrate the life
and memory of student name in the coming days, and we will share more information with students soon.
