MICHIGAN STARTUP BOLLINGER
Motors takes a retro-modern approach
with their $125,000 B2. Its rectilinear
design features sharp corners outside,
powder-coated switches within, and
a total absence of screens or driver-
assistance tech. Bollinger will be the
only electric truck in this group to
produce a bed-less cab-on-chassis version,
adaptable into a box truck or tow truck.
The B2 focuses on ultra-off-road
capability, combining military transport-
esque portal gear hubs with a height-
adjustable hydro-pneumatic suspension,

offering a class-leading 20 inches of
ground clearance. Translation: fewer
instances where you’ll have to stop
and turn around before an obstacle in
the road. The B2 hosts a 120 kWh bat-
tery pack, and front and rear motors
that drive all four wheels—good for 614
hp/668 lb-ft of torque. That powers the
B2 from 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds and pro-
vides a 200-mile range. If the Rivian is a
Swiss Army knife, this is a machete.
