You’llseeanemptyentryfortodayhasbeencreated,currentlyblank.
Youswitchedfromread-onlymodeearlier(ifnot,lookfortheblue
Editbuttonandclickit),soyoucanstartrecordingyourthoughts.
It’sasfamiliarasusinga texteditor,withaddedsupportforlimiting
formatting.Notethatyourfirstlinewillbeautomaticallyformattedas
headertext.Hit[Enter]andsubsequentlinesdefaulttoplainbodytext.
You’llseethattheformattingtoolbarrevealssupportforbold,italics
andstrike-throughtext,aswellashighlightedtextandlistsintheform
ofbulletpointsora to-dolistwithinthediaryentry.Youcanalsoset
upa listbystartinga lineandpressing[Tab]followedbyyourchoiceof
character:[*]forbullet,plus[-],numberandfullstop(1.,2.andsoon).
There’ssupportformoresophisticatedformattingintheform
ofadditionalsub-headers,mark-uptextandinternal(andexternal)
hyperlinks.Yourentriescanalsoincludeimages,butonlyasa thumbnailwith a linktotheoriginalimage.Thesimplestwaytodothisis to
create anewparagraphwithinyourtext,thendragthefilefrom
Files intohere,ortocopyandpasteit fromanotherapplication
like ImageViewer.
It’s possibletoinsertasidesintheformofspeciallyformatted
commentsanywhereinyourtext(forexample,referencesor
explanatorytextthatdoesn’talwaysneedtobedisplayed).
This buttonrevealsthemark-uptextyouneedtouse– simply
encloseyourcommentswithindoublesquarebrackets[[like
so]] andthey’llautomaticallybeformatted.Usethe[[]]button
on the formattingtoolbartotogglebetweenhidingorshowing
commentsasrequired.No morespillingmestakes
Lifeographhasa built-inspellcheckerspanningmultiple
languages.It’sdisabledbydefault,butyoucanmanuallyapply
it tothecurrentdiaryentrybyright-clickingandchoosingSpell
Checkingfollowedbyyourchosenlanguage.Anymisspelled
wordsarethenhighlightedintheusualway– witha red
squigglebeneaththem.Justright-clickthewordtoreveal
suggestedalternatives.
If you’dliketoapplyspellcheckingtotheentirediary,
switchtoitspropertiesscreen(clickthediaryfilenameinthe
navigationpaneif you’veforgottenhow).Fromhereyoucan
setyourchoiceofspellcheckerandchoosea start-upaction,whichletsyouselectthediaryentryyouwanttobedisplayed
whenyoufirstopenit – thelatestentry,thelastentryyou
wereviewing,ora specificentry.Beneaththisyou’llalsoseea
Chaptersdrop-downmenu,whichletsyoudivideyourdiary
