So Andy, how does it feel to finally end Liverpool's
30-year wait to be champions?
I'm not quite sure I’m smart enough to find the perfect
words to do it justice at the moment. On the night I kept
saying ‘incredible’ and ‘unbelievable’ – but to be honest it
feels that special it’s hard to express.
As a team we deserve it. As a club we deserve it. When
you look at the last 30 years and the quality of players
and managers who’ve been here and been so close,
and we came very close ourselves last year – historically
close. I’m just chuffed to bits for the supporters and
everyone who really cares about this place.

Who did you think about first?
When it was confirmed I immediately thought of the
people closest to me, like my own family – my partner
and our wee ones – my parents and my brother,
grandparents, plus my mates who’ve been with me and
supporting me since school.

And then the people who’ve
helped get you to this point,
like former coaches and my
agents, and people who are
sadly no longer with us.
Then there’s your team-
mates and staff who were all
together on the night – the
people you’ve achieved it
with. But it’s only when you
look at the television and
see someone like Sir Kenny
Dalglish being so emotional
that it really hits you.
Sir Kenny is an icon who’s
won everything and he looked
overwhelmed. That hits you.
So to have been a part of it is a
great privilege.

there was an opportunity to achieve something very special for this club
