In February, Christy Turlington Burns made a triumphant return to the runway, appearing on the catwalk for the first time since the ’90s. Her
finale look at Marc Jacobs, a dramatic black feathered gown straight out of Swan Lake, immediately called to mind her December 1987 ELLE
cover, on which she wore a hot-pink avian ensemble by Yves Saint Laurent. Turlington wrote on Instagram that her 15-year-old daughter was
part of her decision to walk the show: “I desperately want [her] to see and hear me, and this is a medium that speaks to her.” These days, the
supermodel, who celebrated her fiftieth birthday this year, is equally well known for her work helming the charity Every Mother Counts and
