developed. And so it is, that I have
recently become more attuned to
the tools I use and what they mean
to me and how they make me
behave and feel as a photographer.
And while I wouldn’t lay any claims
to greatness, reconciling my
relationship with kit and the
importance of choosing the right
tools for the job has made me a
better photographer.


My camera journey
For a long time, I worked as a
writer and editor for a variety of
photography magazines. Pretty
much since digital cameras
became mainstream in the
mid-2000s, I was exposed to a
wide range of cameras, press
events, hands-on experiences and
I had in one form or another a
fairly good understanding of the
camera landscape. So when
