Handmade wardrobes aren’t
just grown-up goals, they’re a
must for little ‘uns too. This
easy, breezy top is a great way
to get into making garments if
you’re looking to stretch your
crochet skills – turn to page 79
for a guide to the basics.

Instructions
The pattern is written for the
smallest size with differences for
larger sizes shown increasing in
brackets, i.e. 12 months (18
months, 2 years, 3 years, 4
years, 5 years).
The jumper is worked from the
top down in joined rounds, and
the sleeves are crocheted on in
joined rounds.
Work the stitches in between
those on the round below, as
opposed to the top of the
stitches. The exceptions are for
Round 1 of the yoke, the
edgings at the neck, sleeves
and base, and the 3tr together
in the yoke construction.
Use a larger hook or looser
tension to make the rounds of
star stitch –you’ll want a loose

even tension to create even
points for the stars.
The pattern uses concise
crochet, for example 6tr means
work 1tr in each of next 6 sts.
Ch3 at the start of a round
counts as a tr (except for star
st round).
