(VIRTUAL)
FESTIVAL
GLASTONBURY
EXPERIENCE
It was set to be one of
Glastonbury’s most
memorable years yet,
with performances from
Paul McCartney, Diana
Ross and Taylor Swift
to celebrate its 50th
anniversary. But just
because the festival had
to be cancelled, it
doesn’t mean all the
celebrations have been,
too... The BBC is paying
tribute to the festival over
the June weekend when
it was meant to take
place with a Glastonbury
Experience. So we’ll still
be able to enjoy the best
in music from our radio,
TV and online, but all
from the comfort of our
sofas. It may not be the
same, but at least we
won’t be getting muddy
in the process.
On BBC platforms
24th-28th June

TV
I MAY DESTROY
YOU
This new drama isn’t
just written by BAFTA
award-winning Michaela
Coel (Black Earth Rising
and Chewing Gum), but
she stars in it, too. Set in
London, the story centres
on Arabella (Coel),
a carefree, self-assured
Londoner with a group
of great friends, a
holiday fling-turned
aspirational boyfriend
in Italy, and a budding
writing career. But when
Arabella’s drink is spiked
with a date-rape drug,
she must question and
rebuild every element
of her life. Fearless,
frank and provocative,
I May Destroy You
explores the question
of sexual consent in
contemporary life.
Coming to BBC One
in June

ALBUM
WHAT’S YOUR
PLEASURE?
Sometimes we forget
Jessie Ware is first and
foremost a singer, after
she created hit podcast
Table Manners with her
mum, Lennie. But Ware
is back with her fourth
studio album What’s
Your Pleasure?, which
has been two years in
the making, and we’re
loving it. We’ve been
dancing to funk singles
Mirage (Don’t Stop)
and Spotlight ever since
they were released back
in November and
February, and the rest
of the album is just as
good. Romantic, fun
and with a bit of beat,
we think this could be
Ware’s best work
yet – and it’s the
perfect soundtrack
to the summer.
Released 19th June

FILM
ARTEMIS FOWL
Artemis Fowl isn’t your
average 12-year-old
boy: he’s a genius,
descended from a long
line of criminal
masterminds. So when
his father goes missing,
it’s up to Artemis to find
him – and things aren’t
exactly plain sailing...
Based on Eoin Colfer’s
beloved book series,
this sparkling new
live-action adaptation
stars Colin Farrell and
Dame Judi Dench
(playing a fairy in
command, no less).
Directed by Kenneth
Branagh, Artemis Fowl
is smart, fun and
provides the perfect
excuse for the whole
family to sit down
together.
Available on Disney+
from 12th June
