Dream of sunnier days with these idyllic beaches,
local attractions, and great resorts around the UK.
G
roups travelling west can discover
Bridport, an old market town on the
Jurassic Coast. Rope-making heritage
and a foodie focus are among its unique
selling points; there’s an annual food
festival and England’s only thatched brewery (named
Palmers Brewery), as well as The Furleigh Wine
Estate nearby. Walkers can arrange a seaside trek
with Jurassic Coast Guides, while those who prefer
being out on the water can charter a boat from the
neighbouring West Bay.
The south west corner of England, where Devon and
Cornwall reside, is another gold mine for coastal
getaways. South Devon alone sports more
than 50 beaches across its idyllic destinations,
one of our top picks being Torquay in the
English Riviera. It has some excellent group-
friendly attractions too, like Living Coasts, a
conservation home for penguins, seals and
birds. If your group has a penchant for plant
life, there’s Torre Abbey, a preserved medieval
monastery with an award-winning garden.
Elsewhere in the region, groups can explore the
towns of Exmouth, Ashburton, Kingsbridge
and Dartmouth - all of which are included in
Visit South Devon’s refreshed group itineraries
