Visitors to the annual outdoor theatre
spectacular which is Kynren - an epic tale of
England, in Bishop Auckland, can sit back and
watch 2,000 years of history come to life in front
of them. The production is of an enormous
scale, featuring hundreds of cast members who
tell a very English story of history through
different eras, whether it be Boudicca’s uprising
against the Romans and the clash of Vikings and

Hornby Hobbies Visitor Centre: Featuring rare products from the
Hornby range, including the Scalextric, Airfix and Corgi archives, the
visitor centre in Margate is the place to take in some of the UK’s
much-loved classics.

Llangollen International: The week-long celebration of music,
dance and performance in the small south Wales town brings people
in from across the world, featuring performances from well-known

Royal Albert Hall: It’s hard to describe the elegance of the grand
hall in London without physically seeing it for yourself - it’s stunning.

Medieval Festival in Leicestershire invites guests to
watch as Richard III loses his crown - the birth of the
Tudor dynasty. There’s lots to see on a visit, ranging
from battle re-enactments and cavalry displays to
author talks, archery and a historical market.

Each year, visitors to the site of the Battle of Hastings
are treated to a huge recreation of the historic fight
which originally took place in 1066. Whether you
side with the French invaders or cheer on Harold
Hardrada’s men, the event is held each October as
close to the official anniversary date of the battle as
possible, with other activities also available.
