Geralt Of Rivia has many names, including

White Wolf and Butcher Of Blaviken, but

you know him best as the scar-faced,

white-haired monster-slayer from the

Witcher series, created by Polish fantasy

writer Andrzej Sapkowski. It’s principally

for CD Projekt Red’s Xbox masterpiece

The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt that Geralt

makes a worthy appearance here, as

he rides the war-torn lands taking on all

manner of beasts for coin, and cracking

heads in tavern fights. Geralt was put

through tough physical training and

mutations to make him the toughest

hombre in a world of tough Witcher

hombres, and carries two swords: one

for monsters, and the other for humans

dumb enough to start a fight with him.

MASTER CHIEF

HALO

Ah, John-117, the greatest of all heroes. The

Master Chief is an unshakable example of all

that is good, never veering off the path of

righteousness. Built for combat and raised

for war, the Chief was kidnapped at the age

of six by the Office Of Naval Intelligence

as one of 75 candidates for the Spartan II

program, a top-secret military experiment

to create cybernetically enhanced super-

soldiers. When the Covenant, a religious

alien collective, waged war against

humanity, the Chief was on the frontlines to

push its forces back. He’s saved countless

lives throughout the galaxy, from not only

the Covenant forces but also a parasitic

species called The Flood that planned to

consume all sentient life. He’s a devoted

soldier who protects those he cares for.

LARA CROFT

TOMB RAIDER

Always one for a good adventure,

especially if it involves rummaging

around tombs, finding ancient relics and

discovering the secrets of the past. Lara

is smart and fiercely loyal, and when she

and her friends were stranded on the

island of Yamatai, Japan, she stopped

at nothing to try and save them. She

even resorted to killing the people

who got in her way, but they were bad

people, so it was alright. Years later, she

inadvertently triggered an apocalypse,

and after a long and hard trial was

granted the power to either bring her

dead parents back to life, or to save the

world. Selflessly, she chose the latter.

Maybe she didn’t want to explain to her

parents why everyone was dead.
