ThenwecometoCorsair’siCUEsoftware,whichis quite
polishedthesedaysandthecoolerwasdetectedoverUSB
instantlyafterinstallation.Outofthebox,youcanselect
from Quiet,BalancedandExtremeprofiles,andapplythem
individuallytothepumpandfans.Interestingly,bothareas
impactedcoolingability,withtheExtremepumpsetting
offeringa speedof2,600rpmanddroppingtheCPU
temperaturebyseveraldegreescomparedtothe1,900rpm
Quiet profileonourLGA2066system,withthefansalso
runningontheQuietprofile.
The H115iRGBProXT’stemperatureinputis settoan
internalsourceso,muchlikea DIYwater-coolingsystem,
it’s the coolanttemperature,notyourCPUtemperature,
that dictatesthepumpandfanspeeds.There’slesscoolant
involvedhere,though,whichexplainsthenoticeablyhigher
temperatureswhenusingtheBalancedandQuietprofiles,
as the fansandpumptakelongertorespond.However,if
you createa customprofile,youcaninsteadsynchronise
the speedstoyourCPUtemperature,orsimplytweakthe
responsecurvestoyourliking.
Thankfully,thepumponlymadea slightwhineatfullspeed,
but we recommendoptingfora peakspeedsomewhere
betweentheBalancedandExtremeprofiles,astheformer
was noticeablyquieterandonlya degreeortwowarmer
under load.Wealsorecommendrampingupthespeeda little
quickertoo,especiallyonHEDTCPUs.


Performance
We testedtheH115iRGBProXTatallthreespeedprofiles,and
there’s a significant different between them. This, as we’ve
mentioned, was due to both lower pump and fan speeds. For
instance, the CPU delta T rose from 43°C to 55°C in our Socket
AM4 system between the Extreme and Quiet profiles in our


ten-minutestresstest,althoughthelatterwasstillenoughto
beattheARCTICLiquidFreezerII 240.However,theEKAIO
360 D-RGBwasbetterstill,albeitwithslightlyhighernoise
levelswithitsfansandpumpatfullspeed.
TheEKWBAIO 360 D-RGBandH115iRGBProXT
managedthesame46°CdeltaT whendealingwithour
overclockedCorei5-9600K,buttheCorsaircooleraddeda
hefty12°CunderitsQuietprofile,wheretheARCTICLiquid
FreezerII 240wasslightlybetter.
Finally,inournewoverclockedCorei9-9980XEsystem,
theH115iRGBProXTwasnoticeablybetterthantheEKWB
AIO 360 D-RGB.Again,though,switchingtotheQuietprofile
sawa massive15°Caddedtotheloadtemperature.

Conclusion
It’sclearthatbothpumpandfanspeedareimportantfactors
withtheCorsairH115iRGBProXT,butwhileitsQuiet(andto
someextentitsBalanced)profilesonlyofferedsimilarcooling
tothelikesofthemuchcheaperCorsairA500andARCTIC
LiquidFreezerII 240,if youallowtheH115iRGBProXTto
stretchitslegswithslightlyhigher
speeds,it’sfarmorepowerfuland
veryquietatlo wtomediumloads.
Thesameis trueofthesimilarly
pricedEKWBAIO 360 D-RGBatlower
speeds,whichhasanevenbigger
radiator,plusRGBfans,andyoucan
controlit easilyfromyourmotherboard.
However,theH115iRGBProXTis a
superbandpowerfulAIOliquidcooler
forthemoney,andit cancopewith
overclockedHEDTCPUs.It’sa great
choiceif youneedplentyofcooling
power,butaren’tquitereadytojump
intoDIYwatercooling.

VERDICT
Monstrous cooling at reasonable noise
levels, although it comes at a price.
