Basilisk V2

RAZER $80

An all-round exceptional gaming mouse

The Basilisk V2 is a
shining example of
Razer going from
strength to strength with its
gaming mice designs. This
superb update to a popular
design adds the Focus+ Optical
sensor and optical switches
under every button. Most
captivating of all, however, is the
customizable scroll wheel.
Between the PTFE mouse feet
on the underside of the mouse
lies a resistance wheel for
granular adjustment of the scroll
wheel. Prefer your scroll wheel
clunking along like an old steam
train? Crank that scroll wheel up
to tactile. Prefer your gear slick

and well-oiled? You can turn off
any tactile response entirely, and
freewheel to your heart’s content
through the shipping forecast.
Knock it back a touch towards
tactile, and you’re in the sweet
spot for gaming. The Basilisk’s
Hypershift thumb lever adds
another macro dimension for
deep customization, too, which all
together tallies for a gaming
mouse that’s encroaching on
hallowed gaming royalty ground.

Tons of macros
Customizable scroll wheel
Fluid movement
Unnecessary DPI setting

G502 Lightspeed

LOGITECH $130

The best wireless gaming mouse

The Logitech G502 is
legendary. Everything
from the shape and
weight, to the smartly placed
buttons down the left-hand side,
it’s a fan-favorite thoroughbred.
So as soon as Logitech
announced it was bolstering its
famed mouse with Lightspeed
Wireless technology and its
top-of-the-line Hero 16K Sensor,
it was a near-enough a
guaranteed winner.
It’s a little more ‘gamer’ than
its Logitech G Pro Wireless
compatriot. It’s noticeably more
extreme and sharp in
appearance, but it’s not to a fault.
Despite a heavy dousing of

right-angles and cool cutaways,
it’s one of the comfiest mice
we’ve ever laid our right-hand on.
It’s incredibly speedy at up to
16,000 DPI, and there are
precisely 11 buttons for your
macro pleasure. So it’s a
well-rounded bit of kit for any type
of gamer, be that MMO, FPS, or
something in between. Add a
48-hour battery, and you’ve got of
one of the finest gaming mice to
be born into existence.
