founder and creative force behind Art Gallery Fabrics, Pat Bravo

COMPANY


This is the last article in the four-part
series and, arguably, the most poignant
article. I’m going to be honest with
you here, I was utterly terrified before
meeting Pat Bravo. This is a woman who
creates the most beautifully striking
fabric collections, who started Art Gallery
Fabrics, and who inspires, motivates and
encourages hundreds of thousands of
people all around the world. How do I
introduce myself to this super-woman let
alone begin talking, and asking, Pat about
her experiences, inspiration and drive?


I needn’t have worried. As soon as I was
introduced to Pat she drew me into a big
hug before holding my hands and telling
me how welcome I was at Art Gallery
Fabrics. The authenticity of Pat’s welcome
goes beyond words and I immediately
understood exactly why the office was
such a positive place to be and that is
because Pat has this amazing ability to
make you feel as if you really matter when
she is with you. Pat is so much more than
the creator of Art Gallery Fabrics; she
is a designer, quilter and patchworker,
a mother, wife and daughter, a friend,
companion, an inspiration as well as a
truly talented woman in her own right. I
completely lost track of time as I became
absorbed in Pat’s story of her sewing
experiences and I feel truly honoured to be
able to share this conversation with you all.


Pat was born, and grew up in Buenos Aires
(the capital city of Argentina). Sewing
was a part of her life right from the start
as her mother sewed, and Pat recalled
