POUCH: PART 4

can help especially when you get
to the zipper/tabs). Leave a 3” gap
between where you start/stop
your stitching on the lining fabric.
(See Pic E.)

6

Turn the pouch the right way by
pulling it all through that 3” gap
that you’ve left open. This can be
fi ddly so take your time. Once you’ve
pulled it all the way through, use
something blunt to push the corners
out in both the outer fabric and the
lining fabric (having the 3” gap
helps as you can use your blunt tool
through there). Make sure that you
also push out those corners where the
zipper tabs are so that it sits neatly.
(See Pic F.)

7

To fi nish off your pouch you need
to close the 3” gap. (See Pic
G.) Iron the lining so that you are
fl attening that gap and maintaining
the seam allowance.

8

To close that gap, top-stitch across
the entire length of that bottom
edge of the lining. I used a contrasting
thread so it can be seen, (see Pic H)
but you can use any thread colour
that you’d like to use.

9

Tuck the lining back inside your
pouch, give your fi nished pouch
a fi nal press and voila! Your beautiful,
zippered A Pop of Red pouch
is fi nished!
