Sew the blocks into rows. Press the
seams open. Sew the rows together,
and press well all over.

Once quilted, trim off the excess
backing fabric and wadding and
square up the quilt.

Prepare the binding by sewing the
fi ve strips end to end to form one
long length. Fold along the full length,
wrong sides together and press. Use
this to bind the quilt.

the rows without having
to get up and
down from your
sewing machine

top, the middle
and the bottom
to make sure you
have an accurate

For the borders, sew a 2½" x WOF
strip to each side of the quilt top. Press
seams out. Sew the remaining three
2½" x WOF strips end to end, press
the seams open. Measure the quilt top
across the width and cut two lengths
from the 2½" strip for the top and border
bottom. Sew and press seams out.

Remove the selvedges from the
backing fabric and square off.
Trim the wadding and backing fabric
down to size, making them both 3"
larger than the quilt top all the way
around. Make a quilt sandwich from your
backing fabric (right side facing down),
the wadding and the quilt top (right
side facing up). Make sure all the layers
are nice and smooth with no wrinkles
and baste all three layers together using
tacking stitches or pins. Quilt as you
prefer – you could follow the seams and
