CUTTING:

From the quilting cotton, cut:

12x9" main outer piece

12x5" pocket outer piece

12x3" outer fl ap piece

From the bias binding, cut:

2 12"-long strips for top of pocket and top

of roll binding

18"-long strip for fl ap binding

30"-long strip for outer binding

ASSEMBLY

Take the corner-rounding template and

round the bottom corners of each piece.

(See Pic A.)

Match the towelling and fabric pieces

and place them wrong sides together.

Baste each pair together using a ¼" seam

allowance. (See Pic B.)

Take the fl ap binding piece and fold

in half with wrong sides together.

Sandwich the side and lower edges of

the fl ap between the binding. Use a

zigzag stitch to sew the binding in place.

(See Pic C.)

Take the top of pocket binding and

repeat Step 3 to bind the top of the

pocket. (See Pic D.)

Place the pocket towelling sides

together with the main piece,

matching the bottom edges. Baste in

place. Draw equally spaced lines along the

front of the pocket with an air-erasable

marker. Stitch through both layers of the

pockets. (See Pic E.)

Fold the ribbon in half and place the

fold of the ribbon just above the pocket

on the left-hand end of the roll, then

baste in place on the front side of the roll

only. (See Pic F.)

Take the outer binding piece and

repeat Step 3 to bind the sides and

bottom of the main piece, catching the

ribbon in the stitching. (See Pic G.)

Place the fl ap towelling sides

together with the main piece,

matching the top edges. Baste in place.

Take the top of roll binding piece

and repeat Step 3 to bind the top

of the roll.
