Draw diagonal line across the solid
pink 1¾" square, on WS. (See Pic D.)

Place small square RST in corner of a
multi/white 5" charm square and pin.
(See Pic E.) Stitch along the marked line.

Repeat for the remaining three
corners of the 5" square. (See Pic E.)

Trim the two layers of seam
allowances to ¼" away from stitching.
(See Pic F.) Repeat on all corners.

Press seams. Lift inner corner of small
square and fold it outwards along
stitching line. Press again. (See Pic G.)

Repeat steps 1-4 with remaining 41
blocks. Press.

Make Row 1. Start by pinning Block 1
to Block 2 by inserting pins ¼" down
from raw edges where corner triangles
will cross seam line, in top and bottom
block. Insert a pin in the centre to hold

blocks together and a further
two pins at ends (see Pic H).
Stitch. (See Pic I). Repeat with
remaining blocks in Row 1. Press.
Press seam allowances to the
right, then set aside.

Join blocks 7-12 for Row 2.
Press. Press seam allowances
to left. Make rows 3 to 7 in the
same way.

Join Row 1 to Row 2, ensuring
vertical seams align and vertical
seam allowances face in opposite
directions where vertical seams join.

Join rows 3 to 7 in same
way. Press.

Add borders to each side.
Layer and quilt as desired.
From binding fabric, cut and
join strips 2½ "-wde to make a
163" length and use to bind quilt
to fi nish.
