using smaller strip sets
For Pop Star, it is important that the strip sets are sewn and cut accurately so that the gray
pieces form a frame within the block. Designer Kelli Marshall fi nds this is easiest to achieve
by using smaller strip sets rather than width-of-fabric ones; the narrow 1½ "-wide strips are
prone to warping when they are cut and pieced as longer strips.
