What the owners think

Three Fuji lm X100F users give their verdict

I bought an original X100 back in
2012, which along with
subsequent Fujifi lm mirrorless
cameras replaced my Canon EOS
DSLR system. By 2017 I found
the original X100 was starting to
show its age compared to modern
cameras. After attending a
Fujifi lm Touch’n’Try Day in
Liverpool with the ‘new’ X100F,
an order was placed soon
afterwards in readiness for a
forthcoming trip to Rome.
With its updated sensor offering
higher resolution, improved
dynamic range, faster autofocus
and the near silent leaf shutter, the
X100F is an ideal companion as
an everyday camera. Although
capable of producing fantastic
colour images, I have always been

Leon Tyler

The Fujifi lm X100F is far more
important than its technical
specifi cations. Sure, it has solid
focusing and a premium APS-C
sensor. There are fast shutter
speeds, a built-in fl ash and 3-stop
ND fi lter. Perhaps you’re
interested in the fi xed 23mm lens
and how sharp it is? But these
things would be missing the point.
This camera has a special feeling.
The moment I took hold of one
for the fi rst time it simply felt right.
The satisfying clicks of the manual
dials and tiny form factor. The
X100F is a pure delight that
encourages you to take
photographs with it, which has
changed me as a photographer.
I have never loved a camera
until I owned this one.

a fan of timeless monochromes,
and here it excels either with the
in-built ACROS fi lm simulation or
post processing conversion.
The X100F gets under your
skin. It’s a pleasure to use, it feels
solid in your hands and makes you
want to pick it up and use it. Over
the last three years, it’s my most
used camera. The fi xed lens has
never been a restriction, in fact I
fi nd it forces you to think more
carefully about composition, which
in turn creates better photographs.
