in 1959. She startedher bankingcareer in

ReserveBank recruitedher.She movedto
Alexandriawhere she had along career with
theFederalReserve,retiringin1998.
Marthaloved to travel, read, and spend time
withfriendsandfamily.Sheespeciallyenjoyed
her group of friends called FNMG (Friday Night
Movie Group) who meant agreat deal to her.
Theywereherfriendsandsupport.
Sheissurvivedbyfournephewsandtheir

School. After graduating from Wilson
Teacher’sCollege,she workedfor Monroe
CalculatingMachineCompany.She married
Jacques Bauer (Jack) Hadler,aNaval Acade-
my graduate,in1942. She lived most of her
adult life in MontgomeryCounty,Maryland,
residinginSilverSpring,forherlastsixyears.
Carylwasanextraordinary,loving,generous,
attentivemother,grandmotherand friend.
She was an extroverted,‘people’person
who embraced life and adventure.While
raising their four children,she workedas
aforeign studentcoordinatorfor American
FieldServiceandtheEmbassyofKuwait.She
becamethe ‘A mericanmother’to innumer-
able foreign students,includingthe 10 who
livedwithandbecamemuchlovedmembers
of her family.After her childrenwere grown,
she becamean intrepidtraveler,visiting
family and friends,and touringin countries
in six continents,where she appreciated
the many culturesand religionsshe was
