to highlight different t houghts,

decisions or i tems on TV.

I think I’m losing my mind.

women who live alone (some of

whom have p ets, some who

don’t), and e very single o ne of

them said that they basically

narrate their days — a loud. Of the

group, I w as the o nly person who

doesn’t d o this, and I a ssume this

is because I don’t l ive alone, and I

get to narrate my t houghts t o my

readers.

I don’t t hink you are losing

your mind. I think y our m ind has

hearing h er rudeness m ight

inspire her to behave differently.

woman who lives alone.

I have a beloved pet. I w ork

from home.

Before the pandemic, I had very

limited interaction with the

public, by choice, but did go o ut

freely on errands and shopping

trips.

I consider myself a v ery cordial

and p leasant p erson when

encountering p eople.

Since the pandemic, my

exposure to the o utside world i s

close t o nil, and I have d eveloped

a bizarre habit that worries me.

Where I always h ad the habit of

talking t o my s weet pet in an

overly sweet type o f “baby talk,” I

have noticed t hat I have carried

this over t o everyday areas o f my

life, a lmost like a narrative of

sorts: “ Oh, I ’m w ashing my f ace,

actually causing her to feel more

frustrated and angry at t he e nd o f

the d ay. That i s because s he is not

actually “winning” at w ork. S he

cannot close out h er w ork days

with the memory of successful

interactions and positive

feedback. Instead, she c arries

with her the v estiges of constant

conflict. What a burden!

If challenged, she might agree

to putting a mirror at h er

workstation or having you

videotape a typical call. Do so

without comment. Watching her

own f ace and b ody l anguage a nd

I’m at a l oss about h ow to

handle this when I see and hear

these cringeworthy mistakes.

retirement and I doubt she’s going

to change, but she’s a lways

frustrated and crabby at t he end of

the day, a nd I know a large part of

that is how she conducts herself.

get complacent and careless

about prevention. Here are some

reminders:

your hands often for 20 seconds

with soap and water.

l Wearing face masks is vital

to protect you and others.

l Clean and disinfect

frequently touched surfaces in

grandkids gave me for my

birthday. They tell me there’s so

much I can do on it: compose a

letter, do my banking and bill-

paying, chat with my friends and

family on social media sites,

research new and delicious

recipes and even play games.

But learning about it seems

overwhelming, and I don’t know

will add to the amount owed.

Be aware that the creditor can

collect from you first, before col-

lecting from the borrower. The

creditor may take action against

you, including filing a lawsuit

against you and even garnishing

your paycheck or bank account.

What a mess!

Never pledge items to secure

this loan, such as your car, jewelry

or furniture. If the loan doesn’t
