The b ody of R ep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) is borne to its final resting place at South-View Cemetery in Atlanta on Thursday after his funeral at the
historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, where the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. once was pastor and which is considered the mother church of the
modern civil rights movement. Lewis was eulogized at Ebenezer by f ormer presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama. T he
late congressman’s route to his grave was lined by mourners, shown at top and below, some striking poses reminiscent of his courage as a
fighter for civil rights, others tearful, and some trying to capture for posterity images of the solemn procession.
