Following the departure of Isaias to the
north, the day will be largely dry, with a
partly sunny sky. Temperatures will return
to seasonable levels with more sunshine.
Humid conditions will continue.THURSDAY
FRIDAY .................Showers/thunderstorms
A blend of sunshine and some clouds,
with seasonable conditions, Thursday.
High 84. Friday will turn out rather cloudy,
but remain dry. High 83.Tropical Storm Isaias will push north
and eventually make landfall in the east-
ern part of the Carolinas today. Heavy
rain, gusty winds and rising seas will
accompany the approach of Isaias with
the likelihood of flooding and damaging
winds. The storm will track just inland
over the Northeast on Tuesday.
Showers and thunderstorms will riddle
the balance of the eastern third of the
nation amid very warm and humid air.
Much of the Plains will be free of rain,
with sunshine and lower humidity.
But, a few storms are likely to affect
areas from western Nebraska to part of
northwestern Texas. Most of the region
from the Rockies to the Pacific Coast will
be dry with sunny skies. More heat is in
store for the interior Southwest.Wind and rain from Tropical Storm Isaias
is expected for the shores from the Car-
olinas to southern Maryland today as it
moves up the coast. Afternoon showers
or thunderstorms will reach the southern
Jersey Shore; otherwise, beaches in the
Northeast will be dry. Highs will be in the
mid- to upper 80s for most.
