A few storms over the Plains will be
severe, especially across the north where
there is the risk of high winds, large hail
and flash flooding, along with a few torna-
does.
Much of the area from the Rockies to
the Pacific Coast will remain dry and
sunny, with considerable heat over the
interior Southwest. Ongoing drought will
continue the risk of wildfires.

While dry weather persists in northern
New England, there will be widespread
showers and thunderstorms from south-
ern New England on south to Virginia
Beach under mostly cloudy skies. The
rainfall will be heavy in some areas, lead-
ing to flooding. Highs will be in the 70s at
most beaches, and 80s in the far south.
