ofa stretchforusbutwe’resogladwetooktherisk.’
Asa lotofworkhadalreadybeendonetothehouse
duringtheprevioussale,LaurenandCharliewentin
witha relativelylighttouch.‘Werepointedthefront,
installeda bathroomonthetopfloorandaddeda
woodburnertothediningroom,’saysLauren.‘We
thenredecoratedthroughouttofreshenuptherooms
butdidn’tchangethecolourschemeat all as it was
exactlyhowI wouldhavedoneit.’
Butastimewenton,thecouplebegantofeelone
thingwasmissing– a familyspacethatwouldtruly
bringthehousetolife.‘I lovedtheideaofanopen-
plankitchen/entertainingspaceoverlookingthe
garden,’saysLauren.‘Wethoughtit wouldfinishoffthe
house.’Sothedecisionwasmadetoaddanextension.
