The game’s chapter structure and
level-scaling means that you don’t

players can jump straight into Elsweyr
without having had to complete any
previous ESO content, and as a new
player, pre-purchase the digital full
game and you’ll get access to the ESO
base game and the last two chapters,
Summerset and Morrowind.

Dragons are returning to Tamriel along with a
massive new chapter for the Elder Scrolls Online

fiends return to
Zenimax Online’s
fantasy world
for the first time
sinceSkyrim,
and will be
the focus of a year-long series of
interconnected stories as part of
the Season of the Dragon event.
This epic tale kicks off with the
Wrathstone DLC pack in February, and
will span four updates throughout
the year, with a dungeon pack and
story pack arriving later in 2019.
But the centrepiece to it all will be
a huge new chapter,ESO: Elsweyr,
which opens up the Khajiit ancestral
homeland toESOplayers. The great
dragon Kaalgrontild and other dragons
are threatening to burn Elsweyr to the
ground, putting the cat-faced Khajiit
in fear for their fur.
Elsweyrwill release on Xbox One
on 4 June, and the new zone will be
similar in size and scope to 2018’s
Summersetexpansion. It promises
around 30 hours of gameplay, all of
which ties in to the Season of the
Dragon, plus tons of side quests
and exploration. This means new
dungeon delves, public dungeons
and standalone quests, plus new
gear, crafting, and various ‘quality of
life’ improvements.
Additionally there will be random
world events (dragon attacks, how
cool is that?) plus a challenging new
12-player trial called Sunspire.
The Khajiit homeland
of Elsweyr actually
made its debut in The
Elder Scrolls: Arena,
the first in the fantasy
series for MS-DOS
back in 1994, but it
will be familiar to ESO
players who have
explored the edges of
the land at Kenarthi’s
Roost and Reaper’s
March. The land is
characterised by
fertile grasslands,
deserts, Moon Sugar
farms and of course
the cat-faced Khajiit,
mostly high on their
beloved narcotic
Skooma, outlawed in
