a bit more, at least back when we
signed. They were with us every step
of the way, whether it was getting
us on the short E3 2014 montage
or getting us connected with other
team members from ID to discuss
what our options were for everything
from starting a game, to what it’s
going to look like when we actually
have to ship with certification. The

Having a platform that fosters indie
talent is positive for the industry as
a whole. “There’s never been a better
time to develop games than now,”
says Teglbjærg. “It used to be only for

young, before or while you’re in high
school and you could be percolating
ideas and coming up with small games
that could possibly be sold in the
console space. It’s huge.”

Removing barriers to get into game
development makes it possible for
people from different backgrounds to
develop games which can result in the
creation of something unexpected.
By only focusing on triple-A games,
where there’s more of an expectation
of huge financial success, there
would be a lot of potential that isn’t
being explored and it’s the creative
potential of these developers that
pushes the industry forward. The
ID@Xbox program has positioned
itself perfectly for that and is set to
continue. Here’s to the next 1,000! Q
