Activity App
on ;Watch
If you want to stay healthy – and who doesn’t – the Apple Watch is your trusted
companion. Using the Activity app you can monitor how much exercise you do in a day,
whether you burn off sufficient calories and if you’re spending too much time sat on
your backside instead of getting up and moving around. You can even win medals.
Staying Active
The Activity app is bundled with your Apple Watch and is a real boon if you’re watching your health.
Here’s a guide to configuring and using it and also shutting it up if it’s getting on your nerves.
1
On first launching the app you’re asked
to put in a few details about your age,
sex, weight and other such information. Do so
as this data is used to determine the
appropriate targets the Activity app sets. You
can manually adjust the targets later if you
wish. Keep them up to date too. If Activity
helps you keep an eye on your fitness you
might find you lose weight.
2
Activity is accessible from both
complications and Glances. The further
around the circle the lines for Move, Exercise
and Stand, the more active you’ve been. When
a circle is completed you’ve met that target.
You might notice that if you use Activity as a
complication on your watch face, the lines
also update according to how active you have
been that day.
3
Open the Activity app by tapping on
either its icon in the app selection
screen, an Activity complication on your
watch face or the Activity app in Glances. You
see the three circles indicating your current
progress. Scroll upwards using the digital
crown or swipe up for specific figures
regarding the calories you burned, steps taken
and distance walked.
