By swiping upwards on the Total
Distance setting, found when you open
the Activity app, it’s possible to change
from km to miles or vice versa, but
doing so is not very intuitive. Instead,
on the iPhone open the Health app and
go to Today > Walking and Running
Distance. Now change the last option
in the list marked ‘Unit’, from km to mi.
The distance shown on your Activity
app is now expressed as miles.
4
Also found by scrolling the digital
crown, or swiping up, are the totals for
your Move, Exercise and Stand circles expressed
as figures and percentages. Scroll a little further
for bar charts, showing when you were moving,
exercising and standing.
7
The Activity app sends you reminders
every hour if you’ve not stood up and
moved around recently. When you get a
notification like this, you should stand and walk
about for at least a minute, then you get
another notification saying you’ve done it.
8
You can configure your Activity app by
opening your iPhone’s Watch app and
going to My Watch > Activity. You then get
options such as muting the app’s notifications
for a day, changing the notification frequency
and other such configurations.
5
Swipe left from the main Activity screen
and you’re invited to share your
activities, using the iPhone Activity app. This lets
you share data with your friends and challenge
them to workout contests. It requires iOS 12
and watchOS 5.
6
A deep press on the Activity app brings
up two options. The first gives you a
weekly summary, showing how many times in
the last week you managed to meet your Move
goal. The second lets you raise or lower your
daily move goal. Tap Done when finished.
