Watch your health

The health app now offers an
Activity Monitor, so you can check
whether you’re growing more or less active
over the day, week, month, or year. The new
Health Data section gives a good summary
of your activity too.

You can also use the Health app to
log your menstrual cycle,
predicting the date and duration of your
next period. You can also add details such
as flow level and symptoms, and share
them with your doctor if need be.
The Files app is now far more advanced,
with Mac-like searches and access
to external storage drives connected
to your iPhone. You can archive and
unarchive files, and share folders instead
of just files too.

Music now warns you if you’re about to
add a duplicate song to a playlist. Also, if
you open the song that’s currently playing,
by tapping the player bar at the foot of the
screen, the lyrics are displayed. They sync
to the song too.
Reminders has had a complete overhaul
and is packed with new features. It’s far
better organised, with automatic smart
lists for tasks that are due today, or listed
as important, and it’s easier to create
tasks too.
Messages has also been revamped. There’s
new animoji, more options to create your
own, and they can even wear AirPods.
Search is improved and, when you’re using
AirPods, Siri can read your messages as
they arrive.
