Q
I spenda lot of timeworrying
about myGoogle rank. AmI
wastingmytimeor is it
important?
CharlesBranson, via email
A
Most peoplearrive at websites from
search engines, so a goodranking
on Google is still really important.
You can see how many of your visi tors come
fromGoogle if you use atool like Analytics
(analytics.google.com). If it’s not a large
proportion, then you either need to worry
that you’re missing themor decide that you
don’t needthem.
Google is still the king
of search but it might not
last forever. Rival search
engines such as
DuckDuckGo (duckduckgo
.com) are continuing to gain popularity.
Getting in early on the next big thing could
proveadvantageous in the future.
