Ever feel like you’re just a cog in a machine? Cognito does. In

Mechinus, from Manchester-based Huey Games, you roll about

as an unexpectedly expressive little gear maintaining an

interconnective clockwork world through platforming and

puzzling, out to save the very heart of the machine.

A typically silly and over-the-top reveal of the latest entry in

the ‘Doom-with-ninjas’ FPS series surprised us with how eager

we are for more ultra-bloody sword-slashing and shooting.

Happily, it’s being developed by Flying Wild Hog, which was

behind the previous two reboots of 3D Realms’ ’90s series.

BOMB RUSH CYBERFUNK

Bless Team Reptile for doing what Sega refuses to, and understanding the concept of love.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is the spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio we’ve all been clamouring for,

and practically broke Twitter when it was announced. There are no skates – a ‘boostpack’

grants your tagger the hyper-agility to slide, airdash, dance, graffiti walls and evade the cops.

The best part? Original Jet Set composer Hideki Naganuma provides the soundtrack.

Crystal Dynamics’ superhero blockbuster has come a long way since the rather off-brand first look we got at last year’s E3
(worryingly, we’ve not been given much opportunity to investigate for ourselves). There’s potential in the game’s co-op Warzone
missions: played in teams of four, either with online players or solo with an AI team made up of your unlocked and levelled-up
heroes, these run alongside the main story of the team’s continued battle against bad guys AIM and the evil MODOK. Still, with
great power, and all that – an Avengers game is a hell of a task. All being well, we should have a review for you next month.
