Trying to sell investment products
is dry at the best of times but
attracting the attention of a younger
demographic can be arid. This was the
challenge for life insurance provider
Forward You when its recent rebranding
required a new website. Calling on the
services of award-winning Rotterdam
and New York agency DPDK, the brief
was to speak to millennial visitors on
their own terms with an engaging,
cross-device experience. Custom brand
assets including photography, video and
animations were created from scratch
and feature heavily throughout. The
animation work and imagery are
especially effective at not just injecting
bursts of colour but also underlining a
tailored message. Video clips and photos
are overdrawn and rotoscoped
beautifully, using the brand’s ‘U’ motif
to transition between the two. FWU’s
Angel font is then combined with the
clean Brandon Grotesque to convey
statistics, product plans and corporate
philosophies. Content is flashed into
view to slick effect on scroll and the site
employs a unique cell-like layout
structure with grid lines arranging page
elements. Navigation is kept intuitive
using chunky dropdown menus locked
to the top, while the vertical and
horizontal screen wipes between
sections are a highlight.
