10Step 11.Airbrush the dried butterflies on both sides with theorange airbrush colour. Ensure you hold the airbrushabout 6â away from the paste and keep the airbrushmoving in a circular motion until evenly covered.Steps 12a & b.Once dried, begin to paint the stained glass effect ontoall three butterflies using a no. 1 paintbrush and theblack dust/vodka paste. Do this slowly and steady yourhand with your other hand to ensure you get straightlines. Paint an outline all the way around the edge of thebutterflies with the black paste and allow to dry.Steps 13a & b.Take a ball of black sugarpaste and roll into a taperedsausage for each butterfly body. Paint a little water onthe body and push into the fold of each butterfly.Step 14.Mix up a little royal icing and spread a little to the backcentre of each butterfly. Place into position on the cakeand hold for a few seconds until stable. Repeat for eachbutterfly.
