16``````I must admit, I really had not heardof British brand Cabbages & Rosesbefore I heard about this afternoontea offering at the Hyatt Regency inLondon. So, I did my research anddiscovered that they’re renowned for“quintessentially British fashion andfabric”. How cool is it that the Hyattconstantly updates and themes itsafternoon teas?! With the Cabbages& Roses team, they’ve created abeautifully vintage, shabby-chic, floralthemed AT.``````Afternoon tea at the Hyatt is servedin The Montagu, which is a lightand airy space, and the Cabbages &Roses display of vintage crates andabundance of plants and flowers (andmy favourite hydrangeas!) provideda beautiful backdrop for this AT. Ooh,and even before AT is served, you’reoffered a fab, fruity cocktail called theBramble Royal – “Celebrating all thingsBritish and designed using the hotel’sChurchill Bar’s very own ChurchillCraft Gin, created with the ScaredLondon Distillery, the ‘Bramble Royale’is infused with a Crème Des Mure andWild Berry purée and topped withEnglish Sparkling Wine, Nyetimber.”Just stunning!Travel - Taste - TryBut, that wasn’t the only cocktail-ylooking item on the menu. Check outthe chilled cucumber foam soup! Sowonderfully light and tasting of Britishsummertime, it’s the perfect amusebouche. There is also a Champagnejelly served with fresh raspberries, andso gloriously ombré’d! Both of thesetreats were also served in cocktailglasses, making the AT all the morevisually appealing.``````One thing that the Hyatt never failsto deliver on is their attention todetail. You only need to look at thepresentation of their AT and theprecision they use for not only theirpatisserie, but also their ‘sandwichselection’ part of the tea. Theircoronation chicken cones, smokedsalmon macarons and prawn cocktailwere beautifully served on the three-tier vintage-y/floral themed cakestand, along with dainty little potsof chicken liver pâté with melbatoast. The scone course was alsoscrumptious, served with fresh clottedcream, strawberry jam AND lemoncurd, which is always a bonus.
