actually watch from, open VLC (seevideolan.

org), select Media and then Open Network

Stream. Then entertcp/h264://<IP

ADDRESS>:3333.It’s possible to use this

method to set up and focusthe HQ Camera

when using an entirely headless setup and

Raspberry Pi OS Lite(which has no GUI or

desktop). The lag between physical changes

being shown on the video stream is more

pronounced, but not unusably so.

POSSIBLEUSES

While you can use the HQ Camera for

anything photo- or video-related, there are

some limitations given the manual focus

andaperture adjustments, the bulk of lenses

andthe need forpower.Building aDIY digital

camera with an HQ Camera module would be

ambitious, and probably cost more than a

cheap DSLR by thetimeyou factor in alarge

USB battery,screen and some physical

buttons to change settings.

Forafixed use,where the HQ Camera unit

can be plugged in and connected to alocal

network, the HQ Camera could be very

useful. That might be asecuritycamera, or

monitoring something of interest (everything

from anest near awindowtobread rising to

ascience experiment, forexample). In other

words, the HQ Camera is worth considering

in any situation where you don’t need to

constantly fiddle with aperture and focus,

wherepower is available,and where atangle

of cables isn’t aproblem.
