RAZER IS BACK with an update to its long-
running and kick-ass Blade laptop line.
We’ve managed to snag the most powerful
one on offer: The top-spec model of the
Razer Blade Pro 17. This bad boy comes
equipped with an RTX 2080 Super and a
shiny new Intel Core i7-10875H processor,
bringing eight speedy cores to the party.
Intel’s Turbo Boost can clock those cores
up to 5.1GHz for improved performance in
CPU-intensive tasks.
A 1TB M.2 SSD means lots of storage
and excellent data transfer rates, while
16GB of high-speed memory supports
the processor. Both of these can be
upgraded: There’s a spare M.2 slot for
adding a second drive, and the compact
motherboard supports up to 64GB of
SODIMM RAM. All that hardware is
hooked up to a bright and colorful 17-inch
4K touchscreen.
Despite its powerful GPU, this is an
impressively slender machine. It weighs
barely more than six pounds and is less
than 0.78 inches thick, thanks to Razer’s
vapor chamber cooling design. Heat is
spread over a wide surface area inside
the casing for improved dissipation, and
it clearly works—our Blade Pro 17 barely
even got warm.
The casing itself has seen a minor
upgrade since the previous model too. It’s
still cut from a single block of anodized
aluminum for scratch resistance and
general durability, but the new casing is
25 percent smaller than its predecessor,
providing greater portability as well as
