NATASHA’S VERDICT
It was lovely to show Yemi some flash lighting
setups that he can play with when he’s next taking
portraits. Although it’s my camera and I’ve set up the lights,
Yemi was directing the shoot and pressing the button, so the
copyright is his, just as if he was there in studio – I send the
Raw files over to all of my clients. Shooting via Zoom online pushes the limits of
what cameras can achieve and uses tech to keep us doing what we love when
studio photography isn’t possible. My tethered shooting has been popular all
over the world and I think, even after the pandemic, this will continue to be an
opportunity to people that want to shoot with me from other countries or with
any photographers that can’t get to my studio.YEMI’S COMMENT
For the last shot we wanted to create something really
vibrant, so switched over to a red paper background
while Natasha changed into a summery red dress and applied
some red lipstick. She aimed a spotlight at the background with
a red gel attached to make it super vibrant. She was lit by a
single flash from the front with a beauty dish on it and the result is my favourite
shot of the day. I’ve always been interested in portraits and been keen to learn
more about flash lighting. Thank you PhotoPlus for the extremely fun and unique

PERFECT CATCHLIGHTS
WITH A flash coming in from above at 45º and a reflector
positioned below Natasha to fill in any harsh shadows, this can
cause a double catchlight to appear in the eyes. Natasha prefers
the look of a single catchlight from the key light, so uses the Clone
Stamp Tool in Photoshop to sample a clean part of her eye to
replace the second catchlight caused by the reflector. Natasha
also had to be careful of her hat blocking the keylight, which
would make the catchlight look like a semi-circle, so would need to
adjust her pose to achieve fully circular catchlights in both eyes.NO CATCHLIGHT
