TRANSFER TO
STREAMLINE
YOUR
WORKFLOW
Automatic transfer is
a great way to provide
backup storage for your
shots, and also have
images ready for a fully
mobile workflow. Make
sure you have plenty
of storage capacity on
your device, and that the
battery is full charged as
continuous transfer uses
lots of battery power.
STEP BY STEP AUTOMATICALLY BACK UP TO YOUR PHONE
Get your images stored on your phone in case disaster strikes – or to show or share your images easily
he latest gen of EOS
cameras include the
ability to transfer
images to your
mobile device while you
shoot. This is a great way to
instantly back up your shots, in
case you’re worried about card
corruption and loss of images.
Automatic transfer of photos
is normally only possible with a
computer using EOS Utility
software. A limited number of
cameras with FTP transfer
capabilities can also transfer
images automatically to any
kind of computer or device that

as an FTP server. Cameras
including the EOS 250D, EOS
90D, EOS R and EOS RP have
also been equipped with an
automatic transfer feature to
Apple or Android phones and
tablets. It is necessary to install
the Canon Camera Connect
app, which is available within
the relevant app stores.
With a tweak in the app and
camera, Raw and or JPEGs can
be automatically transferred to
the mobile device while
shooting. Ensure you consider
the amount of free storage
space on the mobile device,
especially if you choose to
transfer Raw images, or shoot a
lot of photos. Fortunately the
option to reduce the size of the
transferred images exists to
allow faster transfers, and use
less space on the mobile device.
Setup is easy with the
camera connect app and using
Bluetooth to transfer Wi-Fi
settings between camera and
mobile. Existing Wi-Fi
networks can also be used.

01 LINK THE CAMERA AND MOBILE
Ensure your camera’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are on.
Set a custom nickname to ID your camera easily.
Then on the mobile, open the Camera Connect app,
and tap the Bluetooth icon. The app will search for
cameras, and will prompt you to select yours. Follow
the prompts on the mobile to pair the devices.
02 ENABLE AUTOMATIC IMAGE TRANSFER
When both devices are paired, select Auto transfer
from the app, then in the camera settings check
Auto transfer is selected. You can also decide if shots
should be reduced in size. This can reduce storage
requirements on the mobile, but means the copy is
not an exact version of the image on the card.
