aroundtheenvironmentyouhaveisanessentialpro
skill.Oncemastered,thistechniquecanempoweryou
toworkunrestrictedbyambientlightingconditions,and
producestunningimagesregardlessoftheweather,
surroundingsorbudget.
Forthestyleshownheretheintentionwastocreate
acinematicimagewiththeatricallightingproduced
entirelyfromartificialsources.Thethemewasinspired
bythepaintingsofEdwardHopper,whoseworksmade,
thesunneverdirectlyshonethroughthewindowfacing
thesubject.Itwasthereforenecessarytoexposefor
eachimagezoneseparately,andlighttheinteriorwitha
constructed-to-naturallightingbalanceof3:1.Here’sthe
