CONTROL CENTER

COMES TO MACOS

U

sers of iOS–driven iPhones
and iPads have had access
to Control Center for years.
This handy utility places your
most–used settings together in one
easily accessible panel, and in Big
Vxu#Dssoh#zloo#Ľqdoo|#eulqj#lw#wr#
your Mac’s menu bar. You’ll be able
to click on the new Control Center
icon in the top–right corner of your
screen and the panel will pop up to
display quick settings for your
connections (Wi–Fi, Bluetooth, and
AirDrop), Do Not Disturb, and
AirPlay, as well as cool–looking
sliders to adjust your Mac’s display
brightness and sound volume.

JUST HOW YOU LIKE IT
Like its iOS counterpart, Control
Center in macOS is customizable,
to a degree. By going to System
Preferences > Dock & Menu Bar, you
will see a new sidebar that also lists
your Control Center items, plus one
or two others that can be added.
Also, all of the Control Center
features can also be added straight
to the macOS menu bar simply by
selecting the “Show in Menu Bar”
icon within the Dock & Menu Bar
preferences (or alternatively just
dragging it from Control Center to
your menu bar). One new feature
that you will be able to add to your
Mac’s menu bar/Control Center is
Fast User Switching, which will
allow you to instantly switch user
accounts on your Mac straight from
the menu bar. It’s a great system
that will put the functions that you
need to access the most within
easier reach than ever.

Control Center will be a new
addition to macOS that places
key settings in easy reach.
