H

owever much you use your
macOS NotiĽcation Center
at present, this feature will
undergo a huge redesign in Big Sur,
making it more essential than ever
for managing your world. The way
you access your NotiĽcation Centre

in Big Sur will be slightly diļerent
than before. It’ll no longer have its
own icon in the far–right of your
menu bar, instead you will must click
on the menu bar clock to access it.

PANEL VIEW
Perhaps the most notable diļerence
between the new and old NotiĽcation
Center is that there will no longer be
split sections for Today/NotiĽcations
— they will be grouped together in
one handy panel. \our notiĽcations
will appear at the top of the panel
while your widgets sit underneath.
\ou will be able to click to expand
your notiĽcations and then click
on an individual notiĽcation panel
to respond in the respective app,
or easily clear all of them or each
one individually.

More

versatile

widgets

Apple will also implement the
same widget versatility as its big
forthcoming iOS 14/iPadOS 14
update. While in your Notification
Center, you’ll be able to click on
the “Edit Widgets” button to see a
list of widgets not currently in your
Notification Center — a sidebar will
also let you jump to a particular
category quickly — and you will be
able to click, hold and drag them
across to add them. Each widget
will come in three different sizes
that can be toggled by clicking on
the “S,” “M,” or “L” icons below. The
larger the widget, the more at–a–
glance info it can present, so
widgets such as Calendar, Notes,
and Reminders will prove very
useful in their largest size.

A big overhaul to the way your Mac delivers information
