At $499, the Mac mini was the
“most affordable Mac ever” at its
launch in ’05. It was also Apple’s
first monitor–less Mac. It had
a PowerPC G4, optical drive and,
unlike the modern version,
a putty knife was needed
to open/upgrade it.
