THE SHAPING of t h i s f l a re d t u n i c i s
beautifully emphasised by a textured
p at te r n. “ T h e si mpl e e lon gate d s t itc h e s
are worked in a repeat of shell stitch
and garter stitch to give an interesting
openwork texture,” explains Jennie
Atkinson. The pattern has been
designed to have a slight negative ease
on the bust, to give a good fit; the yarn
u s e d of fe r s a re a s on a bl e a m ou nt of
stretchiness. This is Exquisite 4ply
by West Yorkshire Spinners, a wool-silk
blend which comes in eight rich and
saturated shades.
