Keeping your gears in good shape is vital and

can save you money in the long run. If you

ǿŲģǣżǀƣŃĪÿƣƫÿƣĪ ƫŧŏƠƠŏŲŃżƣ šǀŰƠŏŲŃ᠁

all you need to do is turn the barrel

adjuster little sleeve that holds

the business end of your gear

cable. Move it a quarter turn

at a time. This adjusts the

cable tension.

If that fails, there are two

screws (one pushes and the other

pulls) and these also help with

ǿŲĪƸǀŲŏŲŃŃƣĪÿƸŧǣ᠇¼ŊĪƫĪÿģšǀƫƸƸŊĪ

position of your derailleur, which some

bikes have on front as well as back.

And of course, if you’re doing that don’t

forget a little oil or lube (never WD40 because this eats your bearings).

It waterproofs your bearings and keeps everything moving, get it in

amongst all the mechanics and into every little nook and cranny you

can get the little straw on the aerosol into.

Young Wallander

Into the role of the brooding Swedish super detective made

famous by Krister Henriksson and Kenneth Branagh steps 32-year-

old Adam Pålsson, to tell the tale of Wallander’s formative years

as a cop on the mean streets of Malmö. Except, confusingly, with

ŲżšǀŰƠěÿĜŤŏŲƸŏŰĪᠲƸŊĪ/ŲŃŧŏƫŊᠵŧÿŲŃǀÿŃĪtĪƸǵŧŏǢƫĪƣŏĪƫŏƫƫĪƸŏŲ

the present day and stars a mixture of British and Swedish actors.

Based on Henning Mankell’s angst-ridden inspector, the six-part

drama will elaborate on young Kurt’s rise to detective while still in

his twenties, the origins of his strained relationship with his father,

and perhaps even his love of Maria Callas and whisky.

winning Glasgow writer Peter Ross’s new

book is quite literally, as Scots like to say,

pure dead brilliant. Go where many are too

spooked to tread by delving into the hidden

stories and glories of graveyards. Learn
